The Old Spaghetti Factory

The funky decor of the Old Spaghetti Factory belies its place in a chain of similarly outfitted locations. Still, the odd antiques (including a full-size trolley car in which you can dine) do give the place a unique atmosphere.The menu features fairly standard American-Italian entrees, each of them quite tasty, if not exactly gourmet. The multiroomed restaurant is huge, and can handle large groups, making this an excellent place for large gathings and parties. The very reasonably priced menu is also sure to please.Oakland's Jack London Square location provides the added benefit of proximity to other things-to-do, including the shops on the Square, the waterfront, and for those with 2-5 year old boys, very active train tracks -- handy on a crowded evening, during which the wait for a table can be 30 minutes or more.
