North Beach Pizza

North Beach Pizza is one of the best pizza in the Bay Area, but it tastes much better when you're eating it at home. The decor at the restaurant is rather minimal with Denny's like booths that are rather uncomfortable. Service can be spotty too: I've had great service and I've had really bad service. Also their wine is rather pricey and pretty bad so you're seriously better off ordering out and chilling out with a good DVD and a nice bottle of $8 Chianti. Still, their choice of toppings and specialty pizza are incredible and beat the pants off most others in the Bay Area, with the exception perhaps of Zachary's on the East Bay. They have other awesome dishes. Try the gnocchi al pesto for a great tasting cheap treat!
